Musings From an "Uncommon" Weekend Retreat

Seventy+ sages in education gathered to share, learn, and network at the Corwin’s Author’s Retreat held at the Terranea Resort overlooking the Pacific.
It is near impossible to include all of the substantial ideas and inspirational messages. Here is a brief summary of some noteworthy ones.

Ainsley Rose: Top priorities in Hattie’s Visible Learning: Clear goals, engaged/collaborative learning, and feedback on progress. Look for the evidence and then use the data to make an impact on learning.

Tom Guskey:  It is essential to find the balance between what is fair and what is meaningful in assessment and grading.

Jim Popham: Teacher evaluation and professional development should be designed to improve student learning. This requires balanced and rigorous systems that support teacher development and benefit schools as a whole

Eric Sheninger: Communicate, share, network, and leverage to maximize your potential. Thanks for Eric’s unbridled dedication to the value of technology in teaching, learning, and leading.
